Compassion & Self-Realization - Compassion for Self-Empowerment

🌸 COMPASSION & SELF-REALIZATION 🌸🕊

What does compassion mean to you and how do you relate to this word personally? This quality can play an extremely powerful role in your life, helping you to live a happier, more fulfilling life. 🕊

Today's Personal Power Life Coaching discusses this relevant topic:

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary: "Compassion = sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it".

It is a feeling of kindness, active sympathy, benevolence, being kind-hearted, and understanding. In buddhism it is considered one of the 2 qualities (Wisdom + Compassion) that must be developed to realize enlightenment: Compassion - “The ideal of practice is to selflessly act to alleviate suffering wherever it appears” [http://buddhism.about.com/…/basicbuddhistt…/a/compassion.htm].
🕊
Compassion is an important quality for us to embrace not simply because Buddha, Patanjali, the Dalai Lama or another great sage said so. It comes down to the basic quality and feature of living humanely, lovingly and with heart in this world. We can also begin understanding Compassion by knowing its opposite - heartlessness, selfishness, egotism, despotism, cruelty, harshness, hate, intolerance.
💮
One of the effects of compassion is that we adopt a more “unity” and “oneness” consciousness or mindset. That is, when we practice compassion and are mindful of it in our lives we are empathetic to others’ plights and tribulations and appreciate that what can happen to another could very well happen to us. We open our heart, communicate sincerely, with integrity and live with more love, light, joy, ease and wellbeing. We feel deeper gratitude for our life and see many more of our blessings; we realize there are others less fortunate and that we can help in any small way without necessarily needing to take physical action. We can be compassionate when we simply project love and positive energy through thoughts, intentions and wishes towards XYZ.

These realizations ground us (down-to-earth) and bring us closer to the univeral, timeless Truth of being a part of the shared human collective - we are One, instead of one person, nation or group being superior or inferior. We are all human beings and we are going through the human life experience together and individually; no one is better than another person nor beneath anyone else. We are all one people, one race and all experience the same basic human needs to exist and coexist.

🐘 How can you practice more compassion in your daily life? 3 Helpful Tips:

  1. 🏳 Be Aware, Open Your Eyes - We can start by awareness of what is compassionate and what it is not. What does it mean to you?🏳Look around you: Your environment, home, workplace, relationships, how others interact and notice where there is an opportunity to be compassionate, kind, caring, helpful or understanding. Often times, people use ‘being nice’, empathetic, sympathetic as synonyms for ‘compassion’.
  2. 🏳 Self-Compassion - Be compassionate with/towards yourself, and then towards others. This means not judging yourself or being hard on yourself. Throw perfectionism out the window and celebrate the good work you are doing and the positive steps you are taking. Appreciate how far you’ve come along your own journey and the several ways you have changed for the better, and even if you cannot find too many ways that you’ve improved then acknowledge your willingness to do better and be a better person than you were yesterday. You always have the chance to change and you can do so with your intention and the empowering energy of self-compassion.
  3. 🏳 Compassion Towards Others - Consider extending to others the benefit of the doubt rather than jumping to negative conclusions. Avoid criticizing or judging others. Understand that they are going through their own journeys and are doing the best they can. There is one NLP Presupposition summed up as follows: “People make the best choices possible with the information and resources available.” Although we might be inclined or habituated to judging someone else’s behavior, weakness, attitudes, or whatever other aspect you disagree with, we can practice compassion by understanding that they are doing the best they can, perhaps they do not know any better way and this is the utmost they can do at this time.

Practicing Compassion is incredibly important in today’s day and age - both for individual wellbeing and society at large.

Given our global societies evolving and industrializing at faster and faster rates there is more automation, computerization and more sources of immediate gratification and short attention spans. Our amazing technological progress has enhanced convenience in our lives yet it has also generated some degree of being dissociated and numb to real tragedy, violence and suffering around the world and in our local communities. The more we are exposed to “fake suffering” through movies, TV shows, commercials, video games, music and mass media overall the more sensational it is (violence, suffering, etc.) the more it serves as entertainment; as some become desensitized, there is less impact when real calamity occurs and thus people are unable to actually be the compassionate beings we are by nature. As to whether Compassion is inate or not, we need only look to the babies, and we too we once these same beings - kind, gentle, innocent, compassionate beings who can continue evolving as such when given the opportunities to grow up safe, positive, nurturing environments.

By practicing feelings of kindness, love, understanding, patience, and giving others the benefit of the doubt, we cultivate more wellbeing within us and then we can extend it others. Alternatively, if you have a hard time loving yourself and are your own worst critic yet easily feel compassion for others, then nurture the quality you extend to others and direct those loving, positive, warm vibes towards yourself! You deserve your own love. Indeed, this is fundamental to living your greatest, most joyous life possible. It starts with awareness and compassion.

Reacting to Bad News with Control & Wisdom - Personal Power Life Coaching

This Life Coaching video is designed to help you cope & handle “Bad News” resourcefully.

  • Have you ever received "Bad news"?
  • Can we react to and handle Bad News with Control & Wisdom?💭

We all go through moments in life where we receive “bad” or negative news. Things don’t go our way, a loved one has a health concern, a layoff, a break-up, unpleasant coworker, or any similar situation.
These experiences can feel powerful and grip our attention as something vitally important. As such, our inner wisdom guides us to engage with all of life’s situations and this is where your Personal Power needs to be activated.

Here are some Key Concepts on how to engage with such situations for the greatest wellbeing possible given the circumstances:

 Adopt a new mantra: Mantra of the Moment =  ✋

WAIT & SEE

  • Powerful Questions:
    • Are you feeling emotional?
    • What emotions are you feeling? Breathe into these feelings; this breathing PAUSE helps you re-center and avert rash behavior.
    • Are you making assumptions?
    • What are the FACTS?
    • Do you need to wait for more information, data or do some research and investigate further?
    • Do you need to take immediate action? If yes, then realize this is your new OUTCOME or AIM/GOAL/OBJECTIVE.
      • Identify your new outcome and align with it in to take the best course of action.
  • Tip: Hold off before making a conclusion...
  • Tip: It is not very helpful to assume without concrete evidence or facts as your thoughts will be based on the unreal.
NLP Presupposition: THE PERSON WITH THE MOST FLEXIBILITY CONTROLS THE SYSTEM

✰ Recognize that you are upset or disturbed because “it” doesn’t meet your Map of Reality or match your expectations (what if you modified your expectations or Map of Reality?)
✰ Gather your facts; do research.
✰ Wait for the results or for further confirmed details, evidence. Once you have the concrete data you can shift focus onto what you can do, your new outcome (i.e. What do you now want given the information at hand?
✰ Bring yourself into the present moment (Take at least 3 deep, mindful breaths while closing your eyes)
✰ Wait before jumping to Assumptions & Conclusions
✰ Pause before any hasty actions or sudden reactionary behavior
✰ Acknowledge your emotions however do your very best to not identify with them. Give your feelings the space required however avoid impulsive actions based on immediate emotional reactions as these tend to be more dramatic, intense and changeable.
✰ Remember kindness - to yourself. This means not being harsh or judgmental on yourself or others as this only facilitates more troublesome emotions and thought pathways. Be nice to yourself.

It main seem difficult in the moment to remember these ideas, however, you can do this.

An excellent way to develop better coping mechanisms in life overall is to develop a regular Meditation practice & connecting deeply with your Higher Power.

Why is Meditation so useful and germane in this regard? Because Meditation enhances your presence, consciousness and awareness - which is about bringing concentration into the present moment and bringing your powerful mind into focus and calming it down from the raging rivers of thoughts and feelings. Meditating on a regular basis will help you bring more peace into your inner world; it enhances self-control, poise, inner clarity and presence.

Meditation helps us overcome impulsive and reactionary behavior and helps you become Master of your Self rather than a helpless victim of feelings. Feelings are fleeting, mercurial and fluctuating, and life consistently reveals itself be defined by its diverse and changing currents no matter who you are. So let us use this knowledge to our advantage, let us work with this mutable energy, let us flow with the wisdom of life and our Creator, and allow more aligned living, thinking, and wellbeing. You are meant to be happy, and you deserve the most joyful life you can imagine and even more! :-)

May we allow the wisdom and love of Spirit to permeate our minds, hearts and souls.

The Magic - Daily Gratitude

Thanks to a recent catch-up with a good friend who shared with me the wonders of the book "The Magic", by Rhonda Byrne (same author of The Secret), I've decided to follow the book again. I had purchased the book almost 2+ years ago, started reading and then somewhere along the way fell off its trail and it slipped into temporary oblivion.

Anyways, Practice 1 is to write your list of 10 things for which your are grateful, every day/morning.
Here is today - Day3:

  1. I am really grateful for this fresh, new day because it's a new opportunity at life, to enjoy time with the people a like and who love me, to be a cocreator, and to have fun and enjoy the life experience.
  2. I am so thankful for this morning's fasted swim; I loved it because it helps me to take rest from gym while also burning fat, boosting my metabolism and keeping my muscles activated.
  3. I so deeply appreciate the beauty of the morning time, especially today poolside; the radiant sun gives me energy and tans me, the birds are flying high and free, singing their bird songs, and the air is clean, fresh, new. It is peaceful and supporting; kind and caring; loving.
  4. I really appreciate my safe and convenient drive to work because I reached safely and in good time; i like the flow of things.
  5. I feel really grateful for the delicious decaf coffee I had; perfect taste, hot and nicely complementing my breakfast.
  6. I really appreciate the nice person who took my pic this morning in bathing suit because i was able to really see progress in my physical development, and to appreciate who I am much more.
  7. I totally love and am thankful for the safe, supportive, collegial and professional work environment where I work.
  8. I am so thankful for the free car parking my company offers; bc of it I have a secure place where I leave my car the whole day, for free.
  9. I am so thankful for my colleagues and all my peers at work, and everyone I interact with, bc everyone is a co-creator and our interactions gives us all more clarity and guidance on what we prefer (and don't prefer). There is a ton of valuable feedback in our daily interactions.
  10. I am so thankful for last night's amazing sleep bc today I had great, positive energy and exuberance; I appreciate being able to appreciate and how thinking about these marvelous things enhance my sense of living and quality of life.

 What 10 things are you thankful for today? :-)

Personal Maxims - Things I Know To Be True

Good morning!

Happy & great morning to you :-D

It's a beautiful, blessed and magnificent new day. New adventures, magic and love are here upon us. I'm really looking forward to this day's unfolding. It has already begun in a magnificent and fun way. Awesome! Sometimes words are not enough to completely encompass and transmit our feelings and that is OK. At times it is better to simply FEEL and let it be without trying to narrow it down into verbal, written form.

Whenever you catch yourself in a moment of bliss where you are feeling a lot and somehow you don't find the perfect words to express what this means for you, just let it be and simply FEEL IT. Allow yourself to bask in that emotion, that beautiful feeling, that experience. You will set this more deeply into your memory and psyche and allow your heart and soul to connect more deeply with the moment.

Some moments are too exquisite and God-like to shape into human form and language.
That's special and when you experience such moments realize that you are blessed.

Things I believe & know to be true:

  • God is my strength
  • God's love, strength, and grace makes all things possible.
  • Everything happens for a reason.
  • I love to love.
  • I love to be at peace.
  • Things are always working for me.
  • We deserve to be happy.
  • Gratitude is the key to happiness.
  •
  • We all want to love and be loved.
  • I am always in the right place at the right time.
  • Things happen at the right time.
  • We all like and seek clarity.
  • I don't need to know how things will work out; I trust they will.
  • I don't need to know why things happened as they did; some things are not for me to know and that is divine.
  • Soul Mate Love is my destiny.
  • Trusting feels good.
  • It feels good to move forward.
  • It feels good to Connect.
  • People want to be appreciated, recognized and understood.
  • Love makes all things possible.
  • True Love starts within, with our Self.
  • Thoughts create reality.
  • Mind is a powerful ally; our mind has unlimited potential.
  • We are more powerful than we think.
  • I am more than I appear to be. The strength and power of the Universe rests inside of me. (From "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" by Robin Sharma)
  • When your heart and soul truly, deeply desire a dream, the whole Universe conspires in your favor to make it a reality.
  • We want something because we think that in the having of it we will feel better.
  • The purpose of my life is to live in joy, peace, love and appreciation.
  • Laughter is powerful medicine.
  • Mother Nature has healing powers for the heart and soul.
  • All things take time; patience is learned over time.
  • Every day in every way I am getting better.
  • Life keeps getting better and better.
  • The universe is always providing signs; just pay attention.
  • If it feels like you have to try too hard or it's just not easily working out, and it takes you away from being yourself and feeling good - let it go, it's not for you.
  • I am responsible for my happiness, nobody else.
  • I am not responsible for anyone else's happiness.
  • I am whole and complete; everything I need to thrive and succeed exists within me.

My Morning Ritual - Om/Amen :-)

Today is a new, magnificent day!

Thank you, God. Thank you. Universe.
What kind of thoughts do I want to think and harness?
Where do I want to focus my attention and energy?

Lovers' Sunrise in Seychelles

Rituals....

If you think about it, our daily life and existence is composed of recurring rituals. They come in various spans of time, at different points in the day, week, month year, and can take on a life of their own. The more you do it and the more consistent you become, that ritual becomes ingrained in our self as automatic behavior(s).

For instance, there are rituals such as: how you start your day, how you prepare yourself before you go to work, the things you say or do before a presentation, the way you prepare for bedtime, ritual of going to the gym/exercising and this one encompasses the sub-ritual of how you prepare yourself pre-workout and post-workout (i.e. warm-up and cool-down).

One of the most profound rituals that has transformed my life is my Morning Ritual - the things I do when I wake up and the way my mornings unfold.

In fact, Google "Morning rituals" and you will get 2+ Million results!

Evidently, Morning Rituals are important enough that many famous and successful people have outlined their own processes:

Magnificent Morning Ritual/Routine

I gave birth to my morning ritual 2 years ago when I joined the gym and started weight training. Committing to a healthier and fitter life meant, for me, waking up early, preparing my awesomely delicious coffee, healthy food in the morning and going to the gym before work.

It has evolved over these past 2 years from a bare-bones minimum to a more evolved [dare I say 'enlightened' :-) ] approach, now including meditations, prayer, affirmations, listening to motivational speakers, music, podcasts & making my own motivational videos on social media.

Today's Morning Ritual (25 Mar 2015):

I started my day by saying "Thank You, God. Thank you, Universe. Thank you, Source. Thank you for all that I am and all that I have. Thank you for the magnificent blessings and flowing abundance; the well-being, love and peace in my life. Thank you for my family and friends, and my work, my home, my life, everything that surrounds me. Thank you for blessing us all."

Then I meditate.

Today I tried a new one (Youtube) to tap into a universal consciousness meant to give generate more serenity, ease and empowerment - it was wonderful.

Meditation time is part of my daily awakening; I can't go a day without it, in fact.
Some mornings I also listen to or record my own spoken affirmations - a rampage of appreciation, if you will. Inspired by and in the spirit of Abraham Hicks. I love you so much, Abraham! Thank you for coming alive in my life and everything that we've become.

I enjoy varied meditations - it can be on gratitude, feeling happy, peace, love, abundance, enhancing creativity, imagination, past lives - there are hundreds, thousands and probably millions on YouTube. Thank you, YouTube!
I feel so good and ready for my day after meditating, 5min, 10min, or even 15min if I am feeling more time-flexibility.

Then I Affirm.

Powerful Affirmations! The power of Affirming.
I listened to a 6-minute recording of my own spoken affirmations which I recorded yesterday. I've started recording my own since last month and I find it very empowering, uplifting, love-generating and positive. It is also fun!

Some mornings, if I am particularly inspired, I will record a new set of affirmations. I've noticed that they have been improving in terms of scope, strength, empowerment and joy that comes through me and my voice. It feels great to laugh at yourself in a positive way listening to your voice saying happy things to yourself.

If you want to record your own affirmations, you can simply use your phone and I recommend doing them in the morning when you are fresh, mind is clear, and you are overall energized for the new day. If, however, you are not at your best in the morning and rather have a great mood later in the day, record your affirmations at that time - the point is to do so when you are in your 'zone' and feeling awesome about yourself and about life.

I added Affirmations since January 2015, this year, after reading Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life". I love that woman & I am deeply grateful for her contribution to our world community :-).

She has changed and improved millions of lives by generating positive messages of self-love, self-appreciation and self-esteem. What a marvelously beautiful life mission and accomplishment. If you yourself are or have ever struggled with self-esteem, low confidence,self-love and inner struggles, it is worth visiting her site: http://www.louisehay.com/.

I discovered Louise Hay 1.5 years ago and she led me to beloved spiritual teacher, Abraham Hicks. Connecting with AH has helped me improve the quality of my thoughts, my relationships, my appreciation for the world, self-love, and consequently my life has improved dramatically.

~~~
After praying, meditating, & affirming (all this only takes 15-20 minutes overall) I can start my day feeling spiritually and emotionally positioned to make the best of my life today. It is worth the time invested in meditating, affirming and most certainly praying and thanking God for all the goodness of life.
Sometimes I also listen to an uplifting song of praise that really touches my heart and raises my soul's vibration.
Music is extremely powerful and it can totally get you feeling wonderful!
Time is our most valuable commodity - a non-renewable resource - so use it wisely, lovingly and reap the returns of time well invested in your self-improvement.
~~~

Morning Kitchen Ritual

After this awakening process I am really eager to proceed with the Kitchen Ritual - making the coffee, boiling the water for my lemon water + sea salt + herbs (Rhodiola, Gotu Kola, Gingko Biloba + others if required such as for Immunity). The lemon water gets the digestive juices flowing.

I take a scoop of Raw Greens powder which is Alkalizing and very beneficial as the first thing to take into your colon. If it has pro-biotics that is especially good as the healthy gut bacteria will be beneficial to your intestines and colon on an empty stomach.

I cook the egg whites, veggies (if I don't have pre-prepared from the weekend or night before).

Recently I've been focused on going to the gym on a somewhat empty stomach with the aim to optimize fat burning...It is an ongoing process.

While I am cooking and preparing I listen to Motivational podcasts and videos on Youtube to get my mind right, raise my vibration and nourish thinking positively.
~~~
Journaling Intentions
Some days I write down my intentions for the day.
For instance:
"It is my powerful intention to live today with an open heart, to release old fears, let go of criticism and judgments, and embrace the love in my existing relationships."
Or:
"It is my dominant intent to focus on feeling good, to care about how I feel, and to take the path of least resistance."
Once you get started you sort of have this willingness and desire to keep writing more beautiful, empowering intentions. Indeed, it is an enriching experience because you start thinking more about what you want, how you want to behave, the kind of life you want, the way you want to feel, and the awesome day you can experience.
If you look back on your morning intentions at night you may discover that you lived your day actually fulfilling many of your intentions!
The spoken and written word is magical and magnetic.
 ~~~

Video Blogging/Motivational Vids

Finally, I've recently been feeling super inspired to make videos with a motivational message. I infuse them with the most inspired message I'm feeling from the Universe and then I share it with my beautiful community on social media - Facebook and Instagram (for now). I'm keen to make my own Youtube channel soon.

And then I'm off for the gym to build muscle, burn fat, get sexier and have fun!!! My Fun Zone.  :-)

~~~
Closing Words
  • So, do you have a Morning Ritual? What is your routine?
  • How does it make you feel, and could it be improved upon in a pleasing way?
Ultimately, RITUAL is synonymous with HABIT.
Habits make up our character and yield our life experience.
If you are what you do, then what does your Ritual say about you and how you like to live?
Food for thought :-).
Wishing you boatloads of blessings and sunshine.
Love, Jen
Hey Gorgeous, Hey Handsome!
Facebook generated this 2014 overview: https://www.facebook.com/arcila.jennifer
It's been a great year! Thanks for being a part of it.
How will I focus?
What will I achieve?
How will I thrive, delight and inspire myself and others?
I will focus on LOVE, ease, wellbeing, taking it easy, and releasing resistance. I more aligned than ever to have and enjoy the physique of my dreams - a sexy, tone, lean, fit and healthy body which I enjoy with comfort, joy, convenience, satisfaction and total confidence.
I am no longer concerned with meeting the man of my dreams, because what I do know is that I am the woman of my dreams. If he lives in my dreams then how can he enter my physical reality?
Nah...The most important relationship is the one if have with GOD, Source Energy, myself and my Inner Being.
I care about how I feel, all is well and getting 'weller'.
Things are always working out for me.
I am always at the right place at the perfect time.
I support and encourage myself; words of self-criticim and judgement are no longer part of my psyche and vocabulary.
Complaints are a thing of the past, and I am solutions oriented.
I smile a bright, full, genuine and gorgeous smile.
I believe in the best of myself and support my greatest possibilities. My subconscious is Infinite Intelligence and I feed it empowering, caring and kind messages that support attainment of my heart's desires.
It's magnificent. I am a magician and intuitive being, I feel clairvoyant and wise beyond my years.
I know my purpose in life, I know why I am on earth, and I totally appreciate this time-space reality to be myself and the fullest expression of God in my unique vessel and energy.
I fulfill my life purpose each day; I do what makes my heart sing.
I do what I love and I love what I do.
I am committed to my wellbeing and alignment, and that's just divine.
I am loving the supportive friendships, situations and experiences that enter my reality continuously.
I am always surrounded by love.
I expect the very best and I always receive it.
Why High Expectations are Powerfully Good - Merry Christmas!
Good morning, beautiful world, beautiful life,
- Beautiful Expectations -
They say [who is they? ;-)] we should have low expectations to avoid being disappointed when a given situation, person or reality does not match up to our expectations.
However, I personally love having high expectations and to anticipate the best possible. It makes me feel grand, it reminds me of God's greatness, that there is abundance of possibilities and of my self-worth. It reminds me that I deserve the best I can imagine. If I can see it with my mind's eye, I can generate it in this time-space reality. I think Earl Nightingale was the first to state this in "The Strangest Secret." Listening to this text was the catalyst to transform and improve my life into a more magical, creative, powerful and fulfilling life experience [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaHDCcUcmc0].
High expectations strikes me as striving for excellence, seeking to fulfill the great human potential which is already untapped as it is. It feels like aiming for the stars, being your greatest self and coming closer the fullest expression of God and the Universal greatness for generation and creation.
On this special day of gratitude, joy and love, I've been noticing several manifestations of high vibration. Just when you let go and let God, without controlling the circumstances can you experience the realization of a desired object.
It seems like sometimes, in some cases, the key is to let go, be easy with it and let the course of life take over. We don't have to oversee or manage all the elements, all the time, in all sectors of our life. We can only do our best and for me, I ask for the wisdom and accurate intuition to know when to take action and when to step back and take it easy.
Here is an NLP Exercise for you:
Take a look back on your daily life experience. Begin to take stock of all the moments when you have been pleasantly surprised, when you have received something nice that you weren't expecting, or you were expecting X and it manifested even better than you anticipated.  For instance, you turn the faucet and water gushes out, or you put the key in the car ignition and the car purrs awake, or you turn the stove on and soon enough you're cooking up a meal. Countless things in our daily life that easily work; without thinking much or at all, you expected something (through habit) and received it immediately.  We just forget this happens.
The power of this exercise lies in amplying this expectation to other moments when you expected something - perhaps a successful meeting, a party you would enjoy, or a meal with friends you'd delight in, or a trip home to see your family - these are on a larger scale and there is also a positive expectation it would/will happen.
Take it one step further and extend the expectation, possibly to reaping more financial abundance,  love-filled relationships and friendships, better feelings more of the time.
Put all these moments, memories and future visualizations into a glass container.
The container started out small and as you raised the level of experiences and expectations the container perforce expanded, grew taller, wider and more robust.
Notice how this magically robust container is now overflowing, its contents diverse and widespread, touching on all 5 senses and the spiritual, emotional, physical, financial, professional, romantic, relational, educational, etc.
This is your container. Notice how all these expectations have built on each other and are synergistic, swirling in this amazing, sturdy and ever expanding vessel. A veritable forcefield.
Consider how all these expectations are REAL and authentic; they have really happened. Don't they remind you that you have always received more than you expected?
And doesn't it indicate it will continue to be so? You have not conscientiously applied yourself to create these moments and yet they have always been the case. Let your subconscious appreciate this.
There is more momentum in this growing vessel; a life of its own, guided by universal forces and energy.
It must be so.
Keep adding to your vessel, notice what is happening right now in your life - everything that's going right - that is part of your mega container.
Augment the expectations and they, too, will join this attractive and powerful forcefield.
Consider how your life would be different moving forward if you continue to raise your expectations, knowing that you do indeed get what you expect?
Sky's the limit.
Happy Holidays!!! Peace & Blessings xx
i love you all <3
God bless xoxo
Why be Strong - A New Poem: Piercing the Darkness
Good morning! It was a beautiful and magnificent night of sleep and now today, this moment, is a new beginning and fresh start. Thank you, God.
A new poem...my new belief system. Enjoy xx
Piercing the Darkness -
Poem by J.Arcila (10 Dec 2014)
A divine moment begins,
the sun's light pierces through the alley drawn those two drowsy buildings,
A new alignment.
My community greets me and we are one,
We can set the tone, we can choose our filter,
I put on my dancing shoes and ready myself for fun,
What a delightful start; I'm giddy with anticipation.
I love who I love and this love expands
To be clear-minded, to allow,
to take it easy...and go with the flow,
That zing of inspiration flutters awake in my soul,
Like a bird in Central Park at dawn boldly shaking off bits and pieces of frost.
Lady Phoenix spreads her wings, she's been growing strong
She has new keys to soon-to-be-discovered doors
To paradise.
Paradise blossoms through the portal of the internal lens,
A focal point directed from and towards my heart.
Divine inspiration, divine allowing,
insightful growth and expansion,
being all that I can be, the Greatness that I Am.
It has always been there, now having shed its layers
ironically blooming in this nascent Winter
It's magnificent to anticipate how Lady Phoenix will evolve
into the fruitful Spring, through the salubrious Summer, and
further still through subsequent seasons,
rising higher still,
piercing the darkness to reveal an eternal truth
A Truth revealed from within to without, forevermore,
Like the Sun's brilliance - shining because it must.
Always the right time to be Thankful
I wrote this email draft (below) to myself back in June 2014 and as I've cleaned up my inbox recently I came across this gem. It seems like I wrote in a moment of deeply felt inspiration and joy. Now I'm bringing it to the light of day :-). It's always the right moment to be thankful and it always feels good.
Working with NLP and Coaching I've learned about the power of language and to be aware of Meta Model language violations with terms like: Always, never, all and everyone.
However, rules have exceptions and this is one of them :) Gratitude will always make you feel better and improve your outlook on life.
Love you all,
xx
Dear God, Thank you
Wed 12 Nov 2014
Dear God,
I want to take the time to thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much from the wholeness of my heart and soul for all the blessings that you are gifting me here and now.
Thank you so much because you have helped me to overcome old heartbreak and healed my heart completely. I feel so good today, here and now, living in the light. Thank you because I have really moved on and have come to embrace the fullness of me, who I am and the deep, eternal love you have for me and that I have found bit by bit for myself. I've been improving on a daily basis and this self-love helps me be a better friend, colleague, daughter, sister, Coach, and contributing member to our global community. Love is #1 and love starts from within.
Truly, love is all we need. The love from within.
It's been a long journey; an interesting, spiritual, soulful and uplifting experience. It's been 2 years since the completion of that relationship experience and I've entered new territory in my self development and evolution.
I pray for my friends and others going through their own journey to self-discovery and self-love. That they, too, find sooner or later, the core of love within themselves rather than projecting it onto an external party, the lover, the desired other. I pray that my friends find peace too, because peace is the relief we seek.
It feels great to be in love in a mutually reciprocating dynamic. It feels the best when you love yourself so, so much that your happiness does not depend or stem on anyone else. That is amazing and that is power. That is the blessing and God's gift.
Thank you for helping me and guiding me, for holding my hand, to overcome depression, anorexia, humble beginnings and the pangs of loneliness. Thank you for always being with me, the constant source of my resilience and tenacity.
It is really such a BLESSING and breath of fresh air for my soul to feel free of suffering, free of the self-imposed pain of perceived rejection and non-reciprocated love.
I am grateful for where I am today...It's been through God's grace and strength that I have my current strength and grace. Peace. Peace of mind is invaluable. It is worth diamonds, rubies and the most precious stones on earth.
Peace of mind. Yes!
Thank you, God, for the beautiful music you've created through majestic composers of classical music.
Thank you, for the beautiful birds and butterflies; the fun, belly-hurting, joyous laughs shared with friends and family.
Thank you for the magic and sacredness of morningtime, its fresh air, undisturbed silence, quiet, newness, the opportunity to start again and give it your very best. To co-create and have fun; to live a new day.
Thank you for my fabulous job where I am appreciated and cared for.
God, thank you for taking care of me always. Together we have traveled to so many distant lands and you've always brought me back in one piece with more magnificent memories, souvenirs and enriching experiences.
Thank you for the financial abundance I experience on a daily basis, and which multiplies continuously. Thank you for your protection; for my home, for my adoring family, and the loving, caring beings with whom I share my life experience.
Thank you for my vibrant and healthy, strong body. You have really gifted me with a remarkable vessel that takes me to an infinity of places and it performs amazing feats. I am truly blessed.
Thank you for the health of my organs, muscles, cells, ligaments, all the elements of my being; my body is such a wise entity it is astounding. It contains an unfathomable vastness of wisdom and knowledge...It does everything, it is a universe unto itself. WOW.
I am happy where I am and eager for more. Eager for more joy, more self-love, more peace, more passion, more focus on my life purpose; I am eager to feel my power and step into my self fully. I am eager to be more creative, more confident, wiser.To be who I really am in all of your greatness and to manifest the very best of myself to the world to bring greater good and positivity to all our surroundings and global community. And so that I thrive and delight in my earth experience.
I want to be my fullest self as the fullest expression of YOU.
There are so many possibilities and exciting experiences in my life being created each second. Many loves, more abundance, more success, more clarity, and a singular fabulous life-mate you have custom-designed for me :-).
I am SO excited to continue evolving, improving, feeling more of your peace and LOVE.
Just being awesome. I am awesome, life is awesome. I am so loved and appreciated.  Thank you for taking care of me, and for helping me control my thoughts.
The world and life we live is a result of our thoughts.
Quality Thoughts, Quality Life.
I love you! :-)
Confessions of dating "Not The One"
Sometimes the changes we seek from others, especially those closest in our lives, are the changes that we actually want to effectuate in ourselves.
Similarly, the criticisms or judgments we make of others are the critiques we impose on ourselves, consciously or unconsciously.
The point? You have all the answers within your very own self. Whilst you can admire and appreciate certain aspects in another it doesn't necessarily mean you need to own, possess or have these qualities through the 'having' of the person. We can appreciate someone without needing to 'own' them.'
As the saying goes, "Be the change you want to see."
Accept the other as they are here and now because this is who they are and who they can/will remain being for the rest of their life. Of course, there is also the possibility for people to change and they do many times, however, it's not a certainty.
Truth is I am very thankful, grateful and fortunate to have a loving partner in my life (back in March 2014). This is what I have always wanted, my heart's deepest desire, and it has come true. Someone special with all the qualities I listed and I am so surprised he fills them all!*Written in March 2014.
Confession:
I do not yet have a feeling that he is "the one" - if there even is such a thing - however my Inner Being and intuition invites me to be patient, take it easy and take my time enjoying the development of the relationship, and to give it a chance. Love grows over time and not on trees...
There is such a thing as a 'spark' or 'chemistry' and while I don't feel it quite yet, it can develop over time.
Perhaps the value is to have someone with whom I enjoy being, sharing time, whom I can trust and be myself.
Confession/ Living "As-If"
I want to experience and feel the spark when I see my husband; I delight in feeling his soft aggression, and sturdy masculine energy - we are perfect complements to each other.
We are both deeply in love and have a loving, passionate, understanding, supportive and caring relationship with each other. Thank you, dear Universe, for giving me and blessing me with the most wonderful caring partners in the universe for me!!! I am so, so happy and so, so ecstatic and I am with my soul mate, life partner and handsome man of my dreams.
Relationships - The end-all, be-all?
Deep down, do I really want a relationship?
Why do we seek relationships beyond basic family and friendship?
The topic of amorous/romantic Relationship seems to be a central pivotal topic for almost 95% of humanity. Perhaps it is indeed the biological urge to procreate; the innate drive to connect and socialize; a fixed remaining trait from the biblical story of Adam & Eve, the pairing concept - that is, if you believe in that particular faith. No matter what the religion, relationship and coupling is a consistent theme and seems to be what makes the world go round.
Of course this applies to me - I think about a relationship for me every day in one way or another. Whether it be by acknowledging I'm attracted to someone; or by feeling satisfied and happy with life and thus sensing that maybe I don't need a relationship to feel "whole"; or by hearing the stories and conversing with friends who themselves are facing similar lack of intimacy or having someone special.
In any case, I've had a rocky road on my journey to emotional self-discovery in terms of relationships. Since High School I desperately felt a calling in my soul to have someone special, a Boyfriend, yet it did not happen them. Through college I met a few guys, went on a few dates but nothing lasting or heart-moving. Then post-college I had a few boyfriends as well, more significant and especially 2-3 guys who remain the two most vivid examples of how I am in a real relationship.
Ironically, the 2 more significant relationships were experienced with two men who were dramatically opposite from each other in terms of how we had a relationship. With one guy it was perfect, enjoyable, loving and sweet; with the other, it was passionate, extreme, difficult, uncertain, confusing, and familiar. With the former, it ended because I was obliged to leave the country where he lived and ultimately the long-distance setup was not what I wanted.
For the latter, it ended because of very different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. When we first met and throughout our time together we had incredible passion and attraction. In my eyes he was the most handsome man in the universe - I felt butterflies in my tummy whenever I saw him. It was really something unique for my heart. However, there were oceans between us in terms of communication, life conditions and where we were in our respective lives. It's like we were on different planets with much too different backgrounds, families and ingrained mindsets...trying to connect and make it work to no avail. It lasted 1.5 year, we lived together which was a first for me, and it was a special experience indeed.
Eventually we separated without any official break-up. He lost his job, took his things, left Dubai and later came back to the UAE. After several months of no communication I was no longer open to allowing him back into my life because the pain of his first departure was too great, and I already felt that with the strong habits of the past, it could happen again. My heart is great however it is too soft in love, and another pain like that would be disastrous and take up precious energy and time of my well-being which I value and enjoy much more.
All of this to say that it has been 5 months since I last saw him or communicated with him. Five months doesn't seem like a terribly long time considering the depth of my feelings however it's a very helpful duration that has allowed for distance, growth and my evolution. Now I am at an incredibly advanced place emotionally and I have emerged from that experience stronger, full of courage and full of more self-loved than I have ever known.
I've forgiven us both for all the different ways in which we may have hurt each other. In the end, we only hurt ourselves in these situations. Sometimes we seek drama and enjoy it, like a drug and the addict, and if I am honest with myself a part of me was really drawn to the drama - it made me feel alive.
Happy Moving On!
The momentum of life is to move forward, evolve, progress and adapt to change.
I feel really glad and grateful about moving on with my feelings and letting go of the past. I want to continue loving myself, loving my life and loving the wonderful friends and family in my surroundings. I count my blessings each day, and I cannot count them all because there are so many! That is really a precious gift of life and the Universe.
And so, having gone through this internal self-strengthening journey I realize that I am whole, I feel complete, I have great joy and love in my life. It stems firstly from me - and that in turn attracts it towards me, bees to the honey :) Law of Attraction in action.
There are moments where I think that I am missing out on that special connection, and well, in reality I am still waiting for it. Then again, I realize the most important connection is with myself and being OK with all that is.
Sometimes we put too many expectations on the fictional other which they cannot realistically fulfill, or else they have those qualities but there are other issues or unexpected surprise aspects of sharing with them.
And so, my main philosophy right now is to live in the moment, appreciate this very moment as it is and to make peace with what is. Accepting the boring moments, the routine, the repetition, and temporary lows. It also means more joyously embracing the happy times I have now with friends and loved ones. Sometimes we are waiting and waiting for X to happen to be happy, and then it finally happens and one of two things happens, or both:
1) We experience initial euphoria and elation, satisfaction and joy and then it wears off
2) It is not such a big deal as we expected and you realize it brings up other complications
It means that so often we are delaying our own joy in the wait for a future great thing to happen which is not in our control - there is no way to know if it will happen. You take it on Faith.
And thus, it may or may not happen...
We should appreciate this moment now and make peace with what IS. Enjoy it, embrace it, allow it...Be Ok, be strong, be courageous, be YOU, be with the people you already love and who already love you, and spend all your time doing the things you love or thinking about when and how you do things you love.
That is all I can do. And that is a lot!
It is creating, molding, adoring, respecting, valuing and connecting with my reality and inner truth.
Allowing, being, doing and loving...It is my intention to take it one day at a time and seek my joy.
I even feel gratitude I can express myself in these words and share my creativity with the world.
xx :)
